A sustainable alternative to commonly used super absorbent materials. Plastic is an affordable & versatile multi-usage material, and its popularity has resulted in a global environmental crisis. In hygiene products (baby & adult diaper & feminine care), which make up a substantial proportion of plastic waste, there are two main types of plastic components; packaging in form of nonwoven fabric (with existing green alternatives) and super absorbent materials. Super Absorbent Polymers (SAPs) comprise the functional absorbent component of more than 650 billion disposable personal hygiene products that are consumed in Europe annually and find application in additional high-volume markets where absorbent properties are desirable.
