Primo Foods was founded in 1985 with approximately 38 employees, operating a manufacturing facility in Homebush, Sydney. In 1991 the company expanded into Queensland with the acquisition of Gold Cob Smallgoods (now known as Primo). This manufacturing facility was the original headquarters for Primo Queensland. It was supported by a warehouse facility at Acacia Ridge and a smaller warehouse facility in Cairns. In February 1998, the Homebush facility relocated to new premises in Chullora, Sydney.
