Prometheus, one of the Titans in Greek mythology, was the god of fire, a master craftsman considered the wisest of the race. The name Prometheus was derived from the Greek prefix pro (before) and the verb mantho (to learn or to be increased in knowledge) making Prometheus the Forethinker, the one who thinks ahead.
