Qatar Biobank -

Qatar Biobank has been created by Qatar Foundation in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation and Ministry of Public Health, with the expert support of scientists from Imperial College London to enable medical research on health issues that prevail in Qatar. Through its collection of samples and information on the health and lifestyles of large numbers of Qatars population, Qatar Biobank will be a driving force in developing research into the risk-factors for obesity and related diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer, which are major health challenges for the Qatari population. The health information and samples collected by Qatar Biobank on the population of Qatar will allow researchers to better understand diseases that affect our communities and will lead to tailored healthcare and personalized medicines.
