QCity Metro is an independent online new source based in Charlotte, N.C. Our mission is to be the leading source of news, opinion and information relevant to the regions thriving African American community. Our Incredible Journey Founded in 2008, Qcitymetro.com was one of the nations first digital-only news organizations founded to serve a local, Black audience. Its founder, veteran journalist Glenn H. Burkins, was concerned that Charlottes African American community was in danger of being left behind as more local news and information moved from print publications to various online mediums. Our sole mission is to provide news and information relevant to this growing community. Qcitymetro made a name for itself by delivering on that promise. We strive to publish news, views and information that is both timely and relevant.
