Rachel Carson Center

The Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society (RCC) is a center for research and education in the environmental humanities and social sciences based in Munich, Germany. Its wide range of graduate and scholarly programs and commitment to multidisciplinary and international perspectives makes it one of the worlds leading institutes for studying humannature intersections. The RCC is part of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitat Munich (LMU). It was founded in 2009 as a joint initiative of LMU and the Deutsches Museum and has received core funding as part of the Kate Hamburger Kolleg funding initiative of the German Ministry of Research and Education. The RCC hosts international fellows and visiting scholars from every part of the world.
