In 2011, a small group of highly determined IIT Madras students found a team to compete in prestigious international Formula Student competition series and successfully developed a single seater open-wheeled race car to compete against some of the best talent from around the globe. They called it, Raftar Formula Racing. Today, Raftar Formula Racing has evolved into one of the most respected and recognised Formula student racing teams in the country, heading towards a strong ninth season equipped with eight years of competition experience in esteemed events such as Formula Student Germany, Formula Bharat, Formula Student UK and Formula Student Italy.
