The Real People group was established in 2001 with its main areas of business being the acquisition and collection of non-performing consumer debt as well as the provision of unsecured credit to consumers. The Group diversified into the provision of assurance products as well as the provision and financing of education products. Over time, the Groups lending strategy evolved to move away from lending for consumption purposes to lending only for economically productive purposes which benefit the consumer and society such as housing finance, education finance and small development business finance - what we like to refer to as Responsible Finance.
