Registro Publico de Panama

The Public Registry of Panama was created by Law No. 13 of January 27, 1913 as a dependency of the Ministry of Government and Justice, during the first Administration of Doctor Belisario Porras. The first Director of the Public Registry of Panama, which was previously called the General Registrar of Property, was Mr. Benjamin Quintero Alvarez, who held the position for 15 consecutive years from 1913 to 1928. In 1999, through Law No. 3 of January 1999, it was created as an autonomous entity called the Public Registry of Panama, characterized by having legal personality, its own assets and internal autonomy, both administrative, functional, budgetary and financial.
