Over the course of the past 25 years, we have seen significant changes in the health insurance marketplace. The deductibles and out of pockets have increased considerably, we have seen more interest in preventive care, and we have certainly experienced creativity from re-insurance carriers. All of these variables have made partial self-funding available to small and medium organizations alike. Perhaps the greatest changes have been in the medical procedures being offered and the technology to treat patients. With lasers, robots, x-rays, CT Scans, MRIs and new drugs on the market every week, the medical field has undergone several expensive transformations. All of this coupled with longer life spans and an aging population, the cost of benefits continues to rise exponentially.
