RHD Pittsburgh

Resources for Human Development (www.rhd.org) is a comprehensive, nonprofit, social service organization. RHD currently oversees and supports more than 160 locally managed human service programs in 14 states. RHDs mission is to empower people as they build the highest level of independence possible, building better lives for themselves, their families and their communities. RHD Pittsburgh is comprised of two programs: Community Passages and Bridges. Community Passages is a community-based residential program designed to provide a homelike environment for individuals with developmental disabilities and dual diagnoses, many of whom present significantly challenging behaviors and most of whom previously resided at state schools and hospitals. Residents develop life skills, increase their self-esteem, and are empowered to make choices for themselves.
