Rice Design

Rice Design is an organization that is dedicated to connecting, educating, and celebrating digital designers at Rice University. Founded in the summer of 2020, our drive was to bridge the gap between visual design and Rice, a heavily STEM-based university. With that in mind, our purpose is to do the following: 1. To provide and maintain a support network that encourages the personal, intellectual, career, and social growth of Rice undergraduates who are interested in digital design; 2. To provide opportunities to exercise and develop skills important to design in the professional field, through organizing design competitions, holding informative talks and workshops, inviting industry-level speakers to share their experiences, tackling portfolio-level projects, participating in hackathons/designathons, providing mentorship, partnering with other organizations; 3.
