Welcome to Rice Workshop! Rice Workshop is the brain child of local Melbourne restaurateur David Loh and celebrated Japanese chef Tomohiro Suzuki. Inspired by the concept of getting a complete hot meal from a vending machine, David enlisted the help of his good friend, and super-chef, Tom Suzuki to bring this notion to life. Since our flagship store opened in Chinatown in October 2013, we have enjoyed rapid expansion of the franchise and now have 10 Rice Workshop stores in Melbourne and 1 store in Sydney. We were the first in Melbourne to serve our meals with a soft boiled egg however our popularity grew with the introduction of our delicious green tea soft serve.
