OUR MISSION The River Ridge Commerce Center is owned and managed by the River Ridge Development Authority, which was created in 1998 for the purpose of redeveloping the former Indiana Army Ammunition Plant. While the plant was a crucial defense resource from World War II through the Vietnam War, Congress eventually declared it surplus to U.S. and authorized 6,000 acres to be conveyed to River Ridge Development Authority for private enterprise and development for the benefit of the areas economy, property values, public health, safety, morals and welfare.
