Roanoke Valley SPCA

The Roanoke Valley SPCA is a community resource that provides pet adoption, retention, and education services in Virginias Blue Ridge. Our primary driver is to keep pets and people together and we offer a robust array of programs and services to provide support to pets and their guardians. Since 1916, the Roanoke Valley SPCA has been the leading advocate for the homeless and unwanted animals of the area. For many years the facility operated out of an old farmhouse, located on 13th Street in Roanoke. Outdated and located in a flood plain, it was obvious that the facility was not meeting our needs nor those of the animals we had been charged with serving. The Barbara & Warner Dalhouse Adoption & Education Center opened in February 2004 and is designed to provide for the care of homeless, adoptable animals while they wait for adoption into permanent, long-term homes.
