Rockhampton Jockey Club

The Rockhampton Jockey Club was established in 1868 and races are hosted at Callaghan Park Racecourse in North Rockhampton. The Rocky track is very much regarded as the hub of racing in Central Queensland. The Rockhampton Jockey conducts over 37 race meetings every year making it one of the largest provincial thoroughbred racing Club in Queensland. The Club was formed in 1868 and since that date has continued to grow to become one of the largest provincial thoroughbred racing Clubs in Queensland. The Club conducts the popular XXXX Gold Winter Racing Carnival in June each year which culminates with the running of the $100,000 Rockhampton Gold Cup and the popular Spring Carnival with race meetings that coincide with Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup Days. The Club is soon to complete a major $6.5M track redevelopment which will make the racing surface at Callaghan Park the envy of Queensland Racing.
