Rogerson Shoes

Thomas Rogerson started his business in 1905 when the need was for heavy, durable footwear giving protection from the environment & long wear. During the 40s & 50s, one of Thomas sons Jack developed the business further in Scotland, with the opening of quality shoe shops in Kelso & Galashiels. During the 60s Jacks son Paul joined the business after studying at Northampton Boot & Shoe College. In 1976 Paul opened the Peebles shop, fitted in a modern style & with new ranges of shoes. One of the brands introduced was Mephisto, a good, hard wearing, French walking shoe with excellent fitting properties. In the early 1990s Paul opened the first Edinburgh shop in Rose Street, selling only Mephisto. Soon after Paul opened the UKs first Ecco shop, also on Rose Street. Since then we have grown to 14 shops in total, & the business is now run by Pauls children William & Sarah, supported by a team of around 160 people.
