The Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney Chapter offers support and accommodation to seriously ill children receiving vital hospital treatment and their families at Ronald McDonald House Westmead, and a place of respite for families at Nepean Hospital through the Ronald McDonald Family Room Nepean. Ronald McDonald House Westmead is a 60-room home away from home for families from rural NSW, interstate or overseas while their child is treated at the Childrens Hospital at Westmead. This can be a period of days, or weeks, at times even a year, and the staff and volunteers at the House ensure that families are given the support and homely environment they need to support their childs treatment and recovery. At the Ronald McDonald Family Room Nepean, families with children being treated in the NICU can take a break, have a cuppa, shower, or heat a meal up in the Family Rooms warm, homely environment seven days per week, 24 hours a day.
