Royal Bermuda Regiment

The Royal Bermuda Regiment is a light infantry battalion and the home defence force of Bermuda. On September 1st 1965, it was formed through the Amalgamation of the Bermuda Militia Artillery (BMA) and the Bermuda Volunteer Rifles Corps (BVRC). Both the BMA and Rifle Corps had been in existence since an Act of Parliament, in 1895. On November 24th 1965, the Regiment was ceremoniously presented with its first set of Colours by Her Royal Highness, The Princess Margaret, our late Colonel-in-Chief. HRH also presented a second set of Colours, following the Bermuda Regiments 25th Anniversary in 1990. On November 13th 2010, our current Colonel-in-Chief Princess Bridgette, now HRH The Duchess of Gloucester, presented the current set of Colours.
