Royal Institute for Governance and Strategic Studies

The Royal Institute for Governance and Strategic Studies (RIGSS) is an autonomous, not-for-profit leadership institute and a think tank in the kingdom of Bhutan. It was established in 2013 under the vision and patronage of His Majesty The King to promote excellence in leadership and governance after Bhutan transitioned to a democracy in 2008. RIGSS currently offers nine different leadership programs for a wide range of participants from the public service, defense, corporate and private sector. Besides leadership and related skills, most RIGSS courses also provide comprehensive and analytical understanding of pertinent national issues and emerging trends and challenges. Research works at the institute focuses on five broad areas of data analysis, foreign policy, national security, finance and emerging technologies.
