Royal South Street Society

Royal South Street Society Ballarat Eisteddfod is Australias premier Eisteddfod, promoting, fostering and encouraging participation, enjoyment and enrichment through the performing arts. The Royal South Street Society ((RSSS) is Australias oldest and longest running Eisteddfod, first established in 1891. Since then over one million aspiring performing artists have had the opportunity to shine on the RSSS Eisteddfod stage, leaving a little piece of their heart in the beautiful regional city of Ballarat. The RSSS Ballarat Eisteddfod runs from July to November each year and includes 14 theatrical disciplines of voice, music, and movements, providing some 40,000+ on-stage performance opportunities for artists from all over Australia. Performers have the opportunity to appear on the stunning historical Her Majestys Theatre stage as well as other quality venues throughout our region.
