Royce Learning Center

Royce Learning Center provides educational support to people of all ages in the Coastal Empire. The mission of Royce Learning Center is to provide comprehensive educational services that will enable children and adults with learning disabilities and literacy needs to reach their maximum potential educationally, emotionally, and socially and to heighten public awareness of the lifelong barriers associated with such disabilities. Royce Learning Center was founded in 1970 by a group of parents and professionals from the Savannah area. It is the oldest diagnostic learning center in Savannah. Mrs. Harriet Royce, a noted educator of the learning disabled, was the first director of the center. Funding was originally provided by the Junior League of Savannah and Forward Savannah. In 1973, the center began receiving funding from United Way. The purpose of the center was to provide testing, tutoring and education to children with learning disabilities.
