Rui Roboredo Madeira was founded in 1999, initially named VDS, with the creation of Castello DAlba. Later on, a new vision emerged to invest in an underdeveloped wine region, Beira interior, and be the pioneer willing to show its potential to the world. The passion for these wine regions was always prominent within the family roots. However, only after travelled the world and experienced various winemaking cultures, Rui Roboredo Madeira came back to the great Douro Valley in Portugal, convinced that it had the potential to make the best wines in the world. Our wines reflect this life experiences, which smell and taste like the land where the family built its traditions for centuries. Each single wine we produce provides a unique experience that touches all senses by having a personal character as well as international character.
