Rural Women Foundation

Rural Women Foundation (RWF) is a non-profit, non-governmental and non-political organisation, established in 1997 and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 1999 (RC: 12,057) as a foundation whose objective is to improve the lives of women and children in local communities through education, economic empowerment and social amenities in collaboration with other affinity groups that raises their standards of living. With its focus on community development, RWF Nigeria has a defined target group that include rural women, the girl-child, women living with HIV/AIDS, out of school youth, orphans. RWFs main activities include HIV/AIDS prevention activities, water and sanitation projects at local community primary schools and primary health centres in South-East Nigeria, family planning intervention activities, poverty alleviation projects focused on skills acquisition trainings and education projects through the RWF International school
