RVA Paddlesports

RVA Paddlesports is the destination for whitewater enthusiasts in Richmond, Virginia. This local guiding service offers whitewater rafting, whitewater kayak instruction, flatwater tours and rentals on the James River. The James River Park System offers a variety of paddling options from flatwater up to Class IV whitewater right in the heart of downtown. Guides at RVAPS are all trained to the highest industry standards carrying CPR, First Aid, and Swift Water Rescue Certifications. In addition to running river trips for the general public RVAPS partners with local non-profits in Beyond Boundaries & Boys to Men Mentoring to offer outings for individuals with disabilities or other barriers that may otherwise prevent them from participating in outdoor adventure. RVAPS staff and youth paddlers are active in volunteering their time throughout the year to give back to the river community, park system, & greater community
