S-Chem Group

As the first private sector investment in the Kingdoms petrochemical industry, Saudi Chevron Phillips (SCP) a 50/50 joint venture between Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem) and Saudi Industrial Investment Group (SIIG) began operations in December 1999 and produces benzene, cyclohexane and gasoline blend stock. Another 50/50 venture between the two Jubail Chevron Phillips (JCP) began operations in August 2008 and produces styrene, ethylene and propylene. In October 2012, Saudi Polymers Company (SPCo) a 35/65 between CPChem and National Petrochemical Company (Petrochem) began commercial production, SPCo produces polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, 1-hexane, ethylene and propylene. The plant sites consolidated their operating identities into a single name S-Chem.
