Saajha works towards enhancing parental and community engagement in public primary schools, to ensure an effective collaboration between schools and the community thereby improving the learning outcomes. Lack of capabilities both within the schools and the community, coupled with class bias between the school staff and the parents constrain any active collaboration. Ttowards this, Saajha therefore works towards strengthening strengthens the School Management Committees (SMCs), which are mandatory bodies comprising of elected parents, teachers and representatives of the community. By integrating use of technology, training and providing on-ground support to SMCs to enable them to solve issues togetherin collaboration with elected leaders, Saajha ensures SMCs become a transfomativetransformational force in these schools.
