Saaya-Shadow of Hope

Our story starts in 2014 when devastating flood resulted in massive destruction of houses, educational institutions, infrastructure and lives in Kashmir valley. This led to joining of hands of like-minded law students and volunteers for rebuilding Kashmir. This small and un-named group later led to the formation of SAAYA Shadow of Hope. SAAYA believes that no one should be denied an opportunity of a reasonable representation before the court of law. We have engaged with different lawyers who provide legal assistance to people who cant afford it. We also hold legal awareness programs in far-flung areas to aware people of their constitutional and legal rights. SAAYA believes that the responsibility of social and economic development lies not only with the government but requires equal participation from civil society.
