The reason Students Against Dangerous Driving (SADD) exists is to empower young Kiwis to prevent loss on our roads. Together. It is our vision is to effectively motivate our youth to adopt safer attitudes and behaviours to enhance their life outcomes. SADDs origins date back to 1985; students were dissatisfied with something in their world, and so they set out to make a positive change. It was a desire and ideal shared and soon SADD became a national initiative. Fast forward to today and the SADD programme has been a major contributor in addressing the culture around drink driving, and in educating and empowering each new generation of young people to make safer and better choices on the road. We want to reduce the number of deaths on New Zealand roads by educating and encouraging secondary school students to make safe decisions when stepping into the car
