Safe and Sound Schools: A Sandy Hook Initiative is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing parents and school communities the tools and resources necessary to ensure school safety. On Dec. 14, 2012, a tragic act of violence took the lives of 20 children and six adult staff members at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Two of the children belonged to Michele Gay and Alissa Parker.
