Sancaktepe Municipality

Sancaktepe is a district on the Asian Side of Istanbul. It is a district that gained district status in 2008. It is neighbor to Kartal in the south, Maltepe in the southwest, Atasehir and Umraniye in the west, Cekmekoy in the north, Pendik and Sultanbeyli in the east. Our district is 62.41 square kilometers, its population is 436.733 and there are a total of 19 neighborhoods within its borders. It was formed by the combination of Sarigazi, Yenidogan and Samandra towns of Kartal, which are connected to Umraniye. Europes biggest city hospital Dr. Ilhan Varank Sancaktepe Training and Research Hospital and Prof. Dr Feriha Oz Emergency Hospital is located in our district and at the same time, the connection roads of Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge pass through our district borders. While our municipality building is in Sargazi; In January 2018, it moved to the New Town Hall, Samandra.
