Founded in 1942 by Joao Effting, Santa Luzia started as a small mirror factory in Braco do Norte (SC). In manufacturing the frames for mirrors, the company grew rapidly to revolutionize its production of decorative profiles, coverings and accessories in 2002, replacing 98% of wood as initial raw material to plastic wastes such as expanded polystyrene (Styrofoam) and polyurethane.
