Sar-La Education

Sar-La Education Trust is a public charitable Trust registered in New Delhi in 1982. Its Founder Trustee, Shri Lalji Mehrotra, a Gandhian freedom fighter as well as a businessman, diplomat and philanthropist. At at the age of 82 he decided to donate a part of his wealth to form this Trust to create a platform which would offer quality education to the underprivileged and weaker sections of our society who could not pursue their education due to limited means. Sar-La Education Trust focused on vocational training and established Gandhi Vocational Training Institute at Mumbai in 1982 with courses like Electrician, Carpentry etc. Later it also introduced Computer courses. Today this institute specializes in courses like Tailoring & Cutting, Embroidery, Purse & Bag making and Fashion Designing.
