The Sara Hilden Art Museum, which is the permanent home of the collection of modern and contemporary art, Finnish and foreign, owned by the Sara Hilden Foundation, is maintained by the City of Tampere. Sara Hilden Foundation Collection currently amounts to some 5000 works. It is thus a comprehensive collection which presents a broad cross section of the development in modern art over the last forty years. The Sara Hilden Foundation continues to be responsible for expanding the collection, and places its acquisitions in the art museum
