Schools Consent Project

The Schools Consent Project (SCP) teaches sexual consent to young people aged 11-18 in schools across the UK. We aim to normalise conversations about consent amongst young people in order to challenge harmful attitudes. The SCP is a lawyer-led initiative established by criminal barristers in early 2015. Our legally-trained volunteers provide workshops to young people focused on consent (including its legal definition) and key sexual offences. 86% of students surveyed felt more empowered to take informed decisions about consent following a SCP workshop. The project has proved to be so relevant and successful that we extended it from London into the North in July 2015. Our workshops have reached over 2,500 students (as of March 2016) from a wide range of schools, backgrounds and communities. Given the demand for our workshops we are now also providing them to community youth groups (including to LGBT+ groups and to groups for young people with disabilities). @SCPConsent
