Our Company SYS was founded in 1952 as See Yong Construction, renamed in 1967 to See Yong & Son Construction and incorporated as a private limited company in 1980. Since inception, SYS has specialized in construction works related to river and sea. SYS started out as a drainage and irrigation contractor performing works for government agencies such as JPS (Drainage and Irrigation Dept) and JKR (Public Works Dept). From 1978 to 1994, SYS was active in infrastructure projects for various Agricultural Development Schemes financed by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank and successfully completed RM120 million of works under these schemes. From 1983 to 1999, SYS expanded its operations to Sarawak delivering similar agricultural infrastructure projects. In 1985, SYS acquired its first IHC cutter-suction dredger to become the early local pioneer in dredging and reclamation works.
