SEWAK Sundargarh

SEWAK (Self Employed Workers Association Kendra) in Odisha began during 1994-1998, under the leadership of Mr. Gopal Chandra Ojha, the then Youth Coordinator of NYK Sundargarh. During this time, thousands of youth clubs were established across the district, sparking a powerful Youth Movement. In parallel, SEWAK was also founded under the guidance of NYK and officially registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860. Many of SEWAKs members were former National Service Volunteers (NSVs) and youth leaders from various areas in the district. The organization set up its headquarters on a two-acre land in Rangiamunda village, Tangarpali block, Sundargarh district, Odisha. The contribution of the then Collector and District Magistrate, Mrs. Alka Panda (IAS), and PD - DRDA, Mr. Saroj Jha (IAS), played a vital role in the growth of this youth movement.
