Shikshan Ane Samaj Kalyan Kendra

The Saurashtra region in Gujarat, specifically Amreli District, faces the challenge of being a drought-prone area with minimal rainfall. Despite the majority of the community being engaged in farming, the scarcity of water prevents agricultural activities. Consequently, individuals, particularly those from lower-income groups, agricultural labourers, families below the poverty line, and marginal farmers, find themselves compelled to migrate to distant areas in search of livelihood opportunities. Recognizing this scenario, SSKK was established in 1980 by a group of energetic, committed volunteers. The aim was to address the prevalent challenges by offering alternative livelihood options, thereby mitigating the need for people to migrate. Shiksha ane Samaj Kalyan Kendra have gained recognition within their operational area.
