SIAN CHAY MEDICAL INSTITUTION (SCMI)

Founded in 1901, Sian Chay is a social service agency registered under the Ministry of Health. It provides free TCM consultation and low-cost treatment to the public regardless of race or religion. In addition to Chinese medicine services, Sian Chay actively participates in community charity activities, promoting health awareness, encouraging health care activities to promote charity, and spreading brightness and positive energy. Sian Chay Medical Institution has 14 branches island-wide, providing free TCM consultation and medical subsidies to the public. In the past 9 years (2014 to 2022), Sian Chay has served 3,055,929 patient visits and issued 5,974,823 medical prescriptions. In the next five years (2023-2027), the number of patient visits is estimated to reach 2.5 million, and the number of medical prescriptions issued is estimated to be 4.8 million.
