Siaya Institute of Technology

Siaya Institute of Technology (SIT) is a Public Technical and Vocational Training (TVC) Institution managed by the National Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Education under the State Department of Vocational & Technical Training. It is situated in Siaya town next to Siaya Medical Centre and 300 metres from The Siaya County Referral Hospital. It was established in 1987 by the District Development Committee (DDC) Siaya, as a community initiative, to train students in technical skills in areas of Masonry, Plumbing, Agriculture and Business courses. Over the years, the Institute has invested heavily in infrastructural development to meet the demands of an ever-increasing student population, rapid technological advancement and changes in TVET subsector reforms and market trends.
