Smart Start of Davidson County

Smart Start of Davidson County, Inc. is the non-profit organization charged with implementing North Carolinas Smart Start and NC Pre-K school readiness programs for children birth through age five. This organization has a successful record of improving the quality of child care, parenting resources, access to health care, and other support systems for Davidson County children. Economic development experts say that a world-class education system will attract businesses to our state. First-class early childhood support is part of that system; and it contributes to the quality of life for our community. Studies have shown that all, and especially low-income children who participate in model child intervention programs, are more likely to attend college and be in a high-skilled job or higher education at age 21.
