SOAC - WAAS SYSTEME OUEST AFRICAIN DACCREDITATION

The West African System of Accreditation (SOAC), was created by the regulation n 01/2005 / CM / UEMOA on the scheme of harmonization of the activities of accreditation, certification, standardization and metrology in UEMOA. This Regulation was revised in 2010 and replaced by Regulation No. 03/2 010 / CM / UEMOA of the same title. Article 20, paragraph 1, of the Regulation stipulates that accreditation activities within the Union are the responsibility of SOAC, which ensures that they comply with the requirements of international bodies. Paragraph 2 of the same article stipulates that each member state recognizes as equivalent to its own assessment system, the conformity assessment bodies of the other member states, as soon as they present sufficient guarantees, in particular when these organizations and their procedures are accredited by SOAC or have been assessed according to a procedure or system verified and approved by SOAC .
