SOUTH DEVON RAILWAY TRUST

The South Devon Railway Trust is a registered charity operating the heritage steam railway between Buckfastleigh and Totnes in Devon along the stunning valley of the River Dart. It is one of the West Countrys favourite tourist destinations. Services run daily from March to October with regular special events, evening dining trains on selected dates and Santa-by-Steam specials in December. The majority of our services are operated by former Great Western Railway steam locomotives. A large proportion of our staff come from an expanding pool of dedicated volunteers. As well as running passenger trains, we offer whole day Drive a Train experiences, where you can learn to take controls of a Great Western Railway steam locomotive or British Railways diesel.
