Published quarterly, the magazine has become a leading voice, both locally and nationally, about how to build a healthy, sustainable, and vibrant city. Spacing is also the publisher of a wide array of digital media, including a network of blogs in Canadian cities. Spacing has been named Canadian Small Magazine of the Year in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2013, 2014, and 2015. In 2014 and 2015 the magazine was a Magazine Brand of the Year finalist by the National Magazine Awards. The magazine has also been nominated for nine National Magazine Awards, including Magazine of the Year in 2009, and walked away with 2 awards for Best Editorial Package (2006, 2008).
