Special Kids Connect develops resources, raises awareness and provides support to children with disabilities and their families in Monterey County, CA. Special Kids Connects goal is to empower families with the information they need to navigate systems of support, and advocate for their child, from the moment they are first diagnosed through their transition into adulthood. SKCs programs include: Early Start Family Resource Center - SKC is one of Californias 47 Early Start FRCs, providing 1:1 support and guidance to families with children, ages 0 to 3 years, who have developmental delays. STAR Toy Library - STAR stands for Special Toys And Resources. SKCs lending library houses over 1,000 toys, therapy tools, and books for families. Membership is free of charge. REACH Community Programs - REACH programs provide recreational opportunities for children with special needs in inclusive settings.
