Spikes K9 Fund was founded by James Hatch, a retired Special Warfare Operator. Spikes K9 Fund, with your support, works to ensure every law enforcement, military, and search and rescue K9 receives exactly what they need to be safe, healthy, and effective. We purchase protective equipment, cover the cost of critical medical treatments, and provide life-saving training courses all at no cost to handlers or departments across the United States. To date, we have helped almost 2,600 dogs in all 50 states. As a K9 handler on several deployments, James life was regularly spared by the work of K9s one of the most memorable was Spike. And on James final deployment, the night he was critically wounded, a K9 spared James life while losing his own.
