Founded in 1886 by Elizabeth Wordsworth, St Hughs is now one of the universitys largest colleges, with nearly 1000 students. The College was first established to offer an affordable Oxford education to women. Many of our alumnae have gone on to be trailblazers in their respective fields (Emily Davidson, Barbara Castle, Theresa May, and Amal Clooney, just to name a few).
