St. Stephens College, Delhi

St. Stephens College is a religious foundation drawing inspiration from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It aims at helping its members realise spiritual and moral as well as intellectual and aesthetic values. Founded on February 1, 1881 by a Christian Mission from Westcott House, Cambridge, St. Stephens is the oldest college in Delhi. In 1922, with the establishment of the University of Delhi, it became one of its three original constituent colleges. With a legacy of over 135 years, the college is committed to the pursuit of excellence in higher education, character building, total development of personality, and responsible citizenship.
