STARs mission is to prevent sexual trauma and provide comprehensive, collaborative crisis intervention, advocacy and support to victims/survivors, their families, and our communities. STAR has had a presence in Anchorage for over 40 years. STAR has two distinct aspects to our services. The foundation of the organization is its Direct Service Advocacy work. This includes operating a 24 hour crisis line that is operated by STAR staff during the business day and extensively trained volunteers on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
