STAR Cineplex has pioneered the modern Multiplex Movie Theatre Industry in Bangladesh. The Multiplex Movie Theatre was established by ShowMotion Limited which was incorporated on 19th December 2002. With lucid vision for the entertainment development in the country, the local and foreign promoters of ShowMotion Limited started the First International Quality Multiplex STAR Cineplex. STAR Cineplex began its journey on 8th October 2004 in Bangladesh at Bashundhara City Shopping Mall at Panthapath, Dhaka. The multiplex gradually expanded in the capital to Shimanto Shambhar at Dhanmondi, SKS Tower at Mohakhali and Sony Square at Mirpur.
